Grandma Snuggles Book Review (Plus a Giveaway!)

Grandma Snuggles

If you are a follower of Glenys Nellist, you know what a wonderful writer she is of children’s books. She has a way with words and does a fantastic job of weaving the Word of God into her books.

I love all of Glenys’ books, but I have to say that Grandma Snuggles just might be my favorite! Why you ask? Because it reminds me of all the “Grandma Snuggles” that I got from my Mema!

My Mema was the best! She loved to play with us, take us shopping, buy us ice cream, take us swimming at the community pool, teach us how to play cards, always had our favorite foods when we would come visit, and she would snuggle with us when we were young. My sisters and cousins and I used to fight over who would sleep in the bed with her when we visited! But most importantly, she taught us what a follower of Christ looks like and showed us how to love others as Jesus does. I am thankful for the 21 years I spent with her on this earth. I miss her so very much!

In Grandma Snuggles, Glenys takes us through the lives of 8 animals: panda, hedgehog, beaver, mouse, dog, duck, rabbit, and cat. Each of these grandmas do fun things with their grands like finding bamboo, how to find worms in the dirt, how to build a home with your teeth, how to pray, playing with her grands, cuddling and rocking together, and taking naps together! These animal grandmas do lots of fun things and also teach their grands about God. So sweet!

Glenys closes the book focusing on a child’s grandma. She tells each child that’s reading this book that grandmas want to be with them and do fun things, but most importantly she shows them that grandmas love their grandchildren so very much.

This book will touch your heart and remind children just how special the love of a grandmother is! It’s a must have book to add to your child’s bookshelf. This book would also be a sweet gift to a grandmother for Grandparents Day!

And I’m excited to be able to give away a copy of Grandma Snuggles to one of you!

My grandma used to spend the summer making crafts with me. I never will forget that!

My grandmother and I shared a special bond partly because we had the same birthday. I remember I would always get to go spend the night at her house on Fridays. I even had a special suitcase that said off the grandmas. Even though she is gone today I continue to think about her everyday and I always live my life based on how she would.

My Granny was so special. She taught me about gardening, painting ceramics as well as sitting together to watch Lawrence Welk shows. 🙂 I enjoyed just spending time with my Granny!

I remember growing up and going to my grandmothers on Sunday and spending the day as a family there. She had something on the table that was each of our favorites every time. She was always there for me and I treasured the few years that we lived only a house a part and I could go and see her after school each day.

My Grandma Anna played games with me. I always loved to go to her house. It’s not surprising that me granddaughter, Brooke, recently mentioned that she loves to come over to play games.

What a sweet book! I have so many wonderful memories of my grandma. I miss her so much! In the summer she would take us to the lake and she wouldn’t just sit on the beach and watch us but actually get in the water and play with us ☺️
